Washing machine destroys and makes holes in the clothes

Washing machine destroys and makes holes in the clothes solutions

Step 1:

Holes in the clothes can occur if you use a stain remover when washing. You must be careful not to leave the stain remover on the clothes for too long, as this can cause holes in the laundry. Always read the instructions for use of the stain remover to avoid damaged clothes.

Step 2:

Holes in the clothes can occur if you use bleach when you wash your clothes. In the event that the bleach is not completely dissolved when it comes into contact with the clothing, it can etch holes in the clothing. Therefore, always add the bleach to the washing machine's soap drawer, to best avoid holes in the laundry.

Step 3:

Holes in the clothes can also be caused by the teeth on the zippers tearing holes in the laundry when it is run through the washing machine. Trouser buttons can also cause holes in clothing. You should therefore always make sure to fasten buttons and zips.

Step 4:

Holes in the clothes can be caused by foreign bodies between the drum and the washing tub - e.g. pens, bra hangers and the like. You can remove foreign objects via the hole at the bottom hose or via the hole in which the heater is located - however, be especially aware that if you disassemble the heater to remove foreign objects, the heater may be difficult or impossible to reassemble. On some washing machines, it will be possible to remove the carriers (also called valkes) which sit in the drum and thereby you will be able to access any foreign objects. The carriers are in some cases screwed on from the opposite side of the drum.

Step 5:

Holes in clothing can be caused by silverfish and grains of sand. Grains of sand that sit on the inside of the washing machine can cause holes in the clothes and silverfish can also cause holes in the clothes. Silverfish are small pests that love moisture and darkness, which means that your washing machine provides them with ideal living conditions. In the absence of better food, silverfish can find tiny bits of your cotton clothes and when the clothes are washed, the holes wear out bigger, so that eventually you will be able to see a hole the size of a pinhead. You can avoid silverfish in your washing machine as far as possible by leaving the door and the soap drawer open when the machine is not in use, this way you avoid too much moisture forming. It is also a good idea to wash at high temperatures once in a while, this way you fight both silverfish and a bad environment in the washing machine.

Step 6:

Finally, holes in the clothes can also be caused by a defective doorbell. The door bellows is the rubber gasket that sits between the sink and the cabinet, if this is defective it could cause holes in the clothes. You should therefore examine the door bellows for wear marks and "rubber lint", even if you find neither wear marks nor "rubber lint", the door bellows could well be defective anyway, as the signs are not always visible. If you find that the door bellows is defective, you should replace it.
