Tumble dryer does not heat

Popular question

Tumble dryer does not heat

Step 1:

The error may be due to the overheating protection being switched off. Some models need to be reset, while others reset themselves. The overheating protection is often connected to, or directly on, the heating element.

Step 2:

The error may be due to the heater being defective. It could, for example, be a filament or the like that has burned out.

Step 3:

The error may be due to a faulty operating thermostat. The operating thermostat is the device that gives the control the signal to switch on the heater.

Step 4:

The error may be due to the control being defective. As mentioned above, the control is the device that ensures that the heater switches on.

Step 5:

The error may be due to the heating relay being defective. On newer tumblers, the heating relay is on the control.

Step 6:

If you do not find the fault in the above points and the clothes remain cold, even though you can feel that the tumbler is getting hot on the side or at the back, the fan wheel, fan motor or fan belt may be defective. All three things will cause the air not to circulate and thus the clothes not to be dried - the errors will also later cause one of the errors listed above.
