Step 1:
The thermostat is the part of the dryer that determines the heat level. If it turns out that the thermostat is faulty, the tumble dryer can get too hot as there is nothing to regulate the heat.
Step 2:
Lack of ventilation can also be the cause of the dryer becoming too hot. When your tumble dryer is drying the clothes, the heat is sucked out through a grate. If there is something preventing the hot air from escaping, your dryer may start to overheat. You can prevent this by cleaning the filter after each cycle. If your tumble dryer is in a place where there is not enough space or air around it, it can get too hot. Check that it can get rid of the heat.
Step 3:
If the fan in the dryer is faulty, it will reduce the ventilation and will therefore cause your dryer to overheat.
Step 4:
It can also be caused by a fault on the heater itself
Be aware that on newer tumble dryers there will be an error code to be seen in the display, which can tell you where the error is. If you cannot find the code in your manual, please call us.
