Microwave oven door
If you have problems with your microwave oven door, the cause may be one of the following:
The first fault may be the rubber connection that is loose on the door of your microwave. If the rubber connection is loose, it can cause the door to remain closed, even if you try to open the door. If you can press the microwave release button and then pull the door straight up, you may be able to get the microwave door to remove the stick. Otherwise, you have to go behind the control panel to access the lock.
Microwave ovens with door knobs are more likely to experience door problems than microwave ovens with pull handles. If your microwave normally opens when you press a button, but the button no longer works, the problem is probably with the button itself.
The door lock handle can also be the problem. The door lock allows you to close the microwave door when the microwave is running or put away. The lock consists of a simple plastic hook that grips the door and is released when the button is pressed. If the locking lever does not rise, the door will not open. It is possible that your latch handle may be broken so that it no longer raises when the button is pressed, or the latch handle may be stuck in the mechanism so that it cannot raise.
Then there is also your door spring. Not all microwave ovens have door springs, but if yours does, this is what causes the microwave door to open when you release the handle. If the door spring is broken or has stopped working, your door will not open automatically when the lock is released. Your microwave oven should still be able to open if you release the handle and pull the door open manually.
