Stove bakes unevenly

Popular question

If your stove bakes unevenly, the reason may be the following:

  • There is a chance that your oven does not support hot air, but instead supports top and bottom heating. When using top and bottom heating, you will typically use one plate in the oven at a time. But when using several plates, the heat will be distributed unevenly in the oven, since the supported amount of plates in use is one. But when using a hot air oven, the oven can handle several plates in the oven at a time, as the hot air fan distributes the heat in the oven space.
  • The error can also be caused by defective hinges, or a sealing strip for the oven door that is no longer intact. This will result in uneven baking or roasting, depending on where the leak in the door is located.

Unfortunately, not all ovens are equally good. This means that the heat distribution will be different from oven to oven. When you buy a new oven, there is a chance that you will find that it heats more or less. This may be due to the size of the oven space, design or location of the heating element, but also wattage and fan motors differ between manufacturers and will therefore result in different results.
