Fridge-freezer freezes too much
If your fridge-freezer freezes too much, can it be due to the following:
Room and air temperatures can be the causes of your fridge-freezer freezing. The fridge-freezer will turn up the cold, to compensate for the extra heat on hot days. This can create ice formations as a result, but will thaw when the temperature drops again.
it can be due to a sealing strip which is no longer intact. The symptoms of this defect will be violent icing. You can test the sealing strip by placing an A4 paper between the door strip and the fridge-freezer. IF the paper can be pulled out, the door strip does not insulate. You must continue to do this until you have checked the sealing strip over the entire refrigerator-freezer.
If your refrigerator-freezer itself starts the self-defrost phase, it may be due to a defective thermostat sensor or thermostat. The doors to the refrigerator-freezer must remain closed, and ensure that the canibet has no problems cooling down to 5 degrees. If the fault is still not resolved, it may be due to a defective thermostat or thermostat sensor.
It may also be due to a fault in the light switch. If the light in the refrigerator-freezer does not go out, it may be because the light switch is defective or the thermostat is connected incorrectly. Both faults will cause the bulb to run as if it were off. You can check the bulb by marking on the lamp glass whether it is hot. If the lamp glass is hot, buy a new light switch for your fridge-freezer.
It can also be due to a defective cooling system or a defective compressor. The symptoms will be the same and will cause the refrigerator-freezer to run constantly and will therefore not defrost. There is also the option of refrigeration-freezer freezes more than usual. If there are minus degrees in the freezer, it is typically a defective compressor.
