Installation of dishwasher

If you want to install your new dishwasher yourself, here are some good tips and instructions.

Before you get started

You must first find out if all the installations you need are already there. At a minimum, there must be:

When there is a power plug, water connection and drain close to the dishwasher, you can get started.

Location of the dishwasher

Make sure that the dishwasher is placed close to the drain and water connection so that the hoses can reach. If the hoses have to be extended, then you will run the risk of having problems with the dishwasher's ability to pump out the water.

Most dishwashers are made to be placed under a worktop. Push the dishwasher under the worktop and make sure that neither the inlet hose nor the drain hose are kinked or pushed flat so that the water cannot flow through.

Adjustment of feet

First adjust the rear feet so that the dishwasher is guided up against the worktop. This is done by screwing the adjustment screws at the bottom of the front of the machine.

The front feet are then screwed up so that the front part is also pushed up against the table top.

Make sure the machine is level or adjust the feet accordingly.

Connection of water

We recommend that you connect the dishwasher with a hose with an aquastop (a water trap that sits on the inlet hose that can automatically shut off the water if an outflow of water is detected). Aquastop is installed on most new dishwashers, otherwise you can buy a connection kit from us.

Connecting the drain hose

To avoid a so-called siphon effect on the drain, it is important that the drain hose is installed correctly. In general, the drain hose must be connected to the drain at least 35 cm above floor height, so that the hose ends above the water level. The part of the hose before the connection is secured raised up approx. 80-90 cm above floor height. Be sure to ensure that if the machine is raised on a landing, the drain hose must be mounted correspondingly higher from the floor.

There are several options for connecting the drain hose, and each has specific things you need to pay additional attention to:

1. Plug at the kitchen sink water trap

Make sure the hose is connected so that it is level with the underside of the kitchen sink. Otherwise, you run the risk of dirty water running from the kitchen sink into the machine. At the same time, ensure that the drain hose is routed up under the worktop so that return water cannot get back into the dishwasher.

2. Directly in the sink

Ensure that the hose is extended by a maximum of 3 metres, or is a maximum of 4.5 meters in total.

3. Directly in drain pipe

The outlet of the drain hose must always be at least 35 cm above floor height. Be sure to ensure that if the machine is raised on a landing, the drain hose must be mounted correspondingly higher from the floor.

Connection of electricity

As a starting point, a dishwasher comes with a 2-pin Schuko power plug, which does not have the third pin for ground connection, which we typically use in Denmark. However, it is important that you connect the dishwasher to earth, and you can do this in two ways. Either by buying an adapter (Can be bought here or at most hardware stores), or you can put a brand new 3-pin plug on the cord.

ATTENTION: In several new houses there is currently a provision for grounding using a schuko plug. In that case, your socket will look like this, with hoops at the top and bottom of the plug, which thereby create the earth connection to the Schuko plug:

If you do not connect the dishwasher to earth, there will most likely be problems with operation and it may be able to emit shocks when touched.

Before the first wash

Before using your dishwasher, it is extremely important that you also set it correctly.

Your dishwasher's salt container must be filled with salt for dishwashers. Feel free to pour water into the salt container before pouring salt in. Stir if necessary. around with the handle of a saucepan after filling with salt, you ensure that the salt mixes with the water and thus does not settle into a hard lump.

The rinse container must then be filled with rinse aid. You can buy both salt for dishwashers and rinse aid at your local supermarket.

You must now set the dishwasher's salt level based on the hardness of the water in the area where you live. See a map of the water hardness here. Read the instructions for use for your machine for the correct salt setting in relation to the hardness of the water.

In addition, you must set the dosage of rinse aid that the dishwasher must use. Read the instructions for use for your machine for the correct tension setting.

You are now ready to run your first dish!
