Installation of hood

Installation of hood

You can set up and connect your new hood yourself. However, there are a few important things you must pay attention to in order to achieve the best possible absorption capacity.

  • Mount the hood as close to and as exactly above the stove as possible. It optimizes the absorption capacity. It doesn't matter which type of hood you choose. There are many different types, designs, sizes and absorbency. It is important that you talk to the dealer about this, as the size of your stove or hob and the m3 of your kitchen are of significant importance. The same whether you want a hood with an extractor or with a charcoal filter.
  • Hood with exhaust: the exhaust pipe must be a smooth pipe so that there is the best possible passage through it. The diameter of the pipe must be the same as that of the flange/spout on the motor. If the diameter is reduced, the suction effect deteriorates considerably. The external grate must have completely free exhaust. It is also important to note that the exhaust pipe must be insulated if it is in a cold environment, to avoid condensation forming in the pipe. Maximum recommended length of the pipe is 4 meters. It is not recommended to kink the pipe, but if this is necessary, it is important that you are aware that the suction capacity is reduced. Watch a video that describes this and helps you very well on your way.
  • Hoods with a motor size over 600 m3 suction power, manufactured after January 2016, have a function where the motor power is reduced to a lower level after 5-10 minutes of operation. This is an EU-determined function that must reduce energy consumption.

Once you have installed your hood, it is important that you maintain it properly to maintain good function.
