Tumble dryer stops during the program

Tumble dryer stops during the program

Step 1:

The error may be due to insufficient air circulation in the dryer. This will cause the heater to overheat and the overheating protection will therefore disengage. The overheating protection can often be reactivated - or reactivates itself - when the machine has cooled down. Sometimes the error can also occur after a longer period of operation.

Step 2:

The error may be due to the lint filter being clogged. Always make sure the filters are cleaned before or after each drying.

Step 3:

The error may be due to deposits on the lint filter. If fabric softener is overdosed during washing, deposits can form on the lint filter. It is an invisible membrane that prevents air from penetrating through and thus reduces air circulation. Wash the filter under the tap.

Step 4:

The error may be caused by clogging of the air ducts inside the dryer. This is a frequent error and to solve the problem, you need to disassemble the dryer's air system and vacuum it thoroughly.

Step 5:

The error can be caused by a faulty operating thermostat - this is often located in the air duct.

Step 6:

The error can also be caused by a "loose" or defective overheating protection. This is often located next to or on the heater.

Step 7:

If you have a condensation dryer, the reason may also be that there are problems draining the water. Also check if the container needs to be emptied. This should be emptied after each use.
