Freezer door defect

If your freezer door is defect, can it be due to the following:

• If your freezer does not keep out the cold, it may be due to a defective door gasket, by opening and closing the door daily, it can press dirt areas. This can cause a temperature drop the keeps the compressor on, which will reduce the cooling effect. You can clean your freezer with a warm water solution with a satallite dish, remove the dirt. After a good cleaning, your freezer will cool again as it should.
• Your freezer pack may also be too old. If your freezer is old, be sure to get the correct gasket replacement before removing the old one. With the new wrapping, soften with warm water to remove the wrinkles that occurred during shipping and packaging. You can also use a hair dryer to dry with.
• If the door cannot be closed, first check if the door rubs against something that holds the freezer to close properly. Inspect the hinges to make sure they are free of dirt that will prevent the hinges from working properly.
